Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a restringing service take?

Our standard turnaround time is 24 to 48 hours from the time you drop off your racquet. We also offer Same Day express service (subject to availability) for an additional fee if you need your racquet rushed for a tournament or match.

Do you offer drop-off locations?

Yes, we have multiple convenient drop-off and pick-up locations across Melbourne. You can select the most convenient location during the online booking process.

Can I mail my racquet to you?

Yes! We offer a mail-in service. When you select 'Mail-in' during booking, you will receive instructions on where to send your racquet. Once completed, we will securely ship your freshly strung racquet back to you via AusPost.

What string tension should I choose?

Tension affects control and power. Higher tensions (55-60 lbs) offer more control but less power and a stiffer feel. Lower tensions (48-53 lbs) offer more power, more comfort, and a softer feel. If you're unsure, we recommend starting around 52-54 lbs. We are happy to consult with you to find the perfect tension for your playing style.

What is a 'Hybrid' string setup?

A hybrid setup uses two different types of strings: one for the main strings (vertical) and another for the crosses (horizontal). A common hybrid combines a durable polyester string on the mains for spin and durability, with a softer synthetic gut or multifilament on the crosses for comfort and power.

Can I bring my own string?

Absolutely. If you already have your preferred string, simply select the 'Provide My Own String (BYO)' option during the booking process. You only pay for the professional labor.

How often should I restring my racquet?

A general rule of thumb is to restring your racquet as many times per year as you play per week. For example, if you play 3 times a week, you should ideally restring at least 3 times a year. However, if you play with polyester strings, you may want to restring more frequently as they lose tension quickly and can become dead or harsh on the arm even without breaking.
